Thomas Blackshear, an extremely talented artist, has been an illustrator for over 30 years. After graduating from The American Academy of Art in Chicago, Blackshear was commissioned by the Hamilton Collection to create a series of limited-edition plates, most notably, Star Wars. Best known for his line of figurines, Ebony Visions, Blackshear has also done work for Anheuser-Busch, Lucas Films, and Universal Studios. The U.S. Postal Service has commissioned him for over 20 of their stamp collections, the Mother Theresa stamp being most recent. His artwork can also be viewed in the new book, The Blackshear Sketchbook.
